The Minister of Health has approved a list of diseases covered under the reimbursement program and the medications to be provided for their treatment. The document will come into effect after January 1, 2027.
The list, coordinated with the State Medical Insurance Fund, includes 69 drugs for treating oncological, mental, cardiovascular, endocrine, and other diseases. Among them are Aspirin, Bisoprolol, Omeprazole, Tramadol, Ambroxol, potassium iodide, and Heparin.
Reimbursement covers the costs of medications prescribed by a doctor for chronic diseases. Patients receive the drugs free of charge from pharmacies contracted with the Fund, using an electronic prescription from their family doctor.
The procedure for providing medications under this program is regulated by the “Regulation on the Program for Reimbursement of Expenses for Medicinal Products in Outpatient Treatment,” approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 619 of October 2, 2024.
