Tashkent, May 3 – A heavy downpour that hit the capital affected one of the most sensitive facilities: the Republican Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology in the Chilanzar district. Rainwater flooded the territory of the medical institution on Arnasay Street.

Footage of the flooding quickly spread on social media, causing concern among residents. Emergency services from the district department promptly arrived at the scene.

With the help of special equipment and center staff, the consequences of the flooding were fully eliminated by 9:00 PM the same day. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that cleanup efforts were underway in several districts, with particular attention given to socially significant facilities.

No casualties or disruptions to the center's operations have been reported. The situation is under control.

Earlier, the Uzbek authorities developed a National Program to Combat Oncology until 2035. Under the new concept, it is planned to cover at least 80% of cancer patients with modern diagnostic and treatment methods.
