A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan. A truck struck a woman while she was crossing a pedestrian crosswalk.

The tragedy happened on April 26 at approximately 5:05 PM on the D-140 highway “Shahrikhan – Asaka – Markhamat – Kyrgyzstan border.” According to preliminary data, the driver of a KamAZ-5511 truck hit a woman who ran onto the roadway. The victim died at the scene from her injuries before an ambulance arrived.

The investigative department of the Markhamat District Internal Affairs Office has opened a criminal case regarding the incident. Investigative actions are currently underway to determine all circumstances. Law enforcement authorities once again remind drivers to exercise extreme caution, especially near pedestrian crossings.

Earlier, a similar tragic accident occurred in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. A Cobalt driver struck a 78-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road in an undesignated area. The man died from his injuries.
