In recent days, social media platforms have been flooded with claims that Turkey has drastically increased state fees for residence permits (ikamet). Some reports alleged that fees for certain categories rose by 930 percent starting May 1.

The Turkish Directorate General of Migration Management officially denied these reports, stating that fees are set annually by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and that no changes have been made recently.

Deputy Chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and head of the Department of Relations with Turkic States, Kurshad Zorlu, also confirmed that the current system continues with existing tariffs. He emphasized special attention to brothers from the Turkic world.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey issued a statement saying the reports are not confirmed by any official sources and lack legal basis. Citizens were advised to rely solely on information from Turkey's authorized state bodies and Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions.
