A 4-year-old boy in the Mingbulak district of Namangan region lost both arms after entering a high-voltage transformer substation that had been left open. The incident occurred on November 11, 2025, in the village of Jamashuy.

The boy's father, Jumanazar Kholmatov, claims that those responsible are not providing any assistance. "My three-year-old son accidentally entered the transformer substation with an open door and grabbed the contacts. He underwent surgery, but due to severe injuries, his arms had to be amputated. I demand that the guilty be punished," the father said.

Bobur Gulomkadirov, head of the district power supply enterprise, explained that the boy was sitting in a car with his father, needed to use the toilet, and upon not finding one, opened the substation door and entered. "All high-voltage transformers should have locks, but someone arbitrarily opened the booth and left it. We provided assistance with medicine and money — 60 million soums from the enterprise and 50 million soums from the khokimiyat," he said.

A criminal case was opened against master I.S. The court sentenced him to 2 years of correctional labor with 20% of his salary deducted to the state. He was also dismissed from his job.

This is not the first such case. Three years ago in Navoi, a 6-year-old boy lost his arms after climbing into a transformer near a playground. Recently in Fergana, a kindergarten child fell into an underground transformer and suffered severe burns.
