Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. An assistant prosecutor in Tashkent's Uchtepa district has become a suspect in a fraud case. The official was detained by State Security Service (SSS) officers while attempting to flee after receiving a bribe of $15,000.

According to the investigation, the detainee, who previously worked in the Shaykhantakhur district, promised a local entrepreneur assistance in renting non-residential premises. In exchange for help in obtaining two basements for commercial activity, he demanded $15,000.

The money transfer took place in the civil servant's personal car. When SSS officers intervened, the suspect tried to leave the meeting place at high speed, but his vehicle was promptly blocked. The funds received during the transaction were seized as material evidence.

Based on the collected materials, the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Part 3, Clause "v" of Article 168 ("Fraud committed by a person using their official position"). A preventive measure of detention was chosen.
