Signs of car theft and intentional grave bodily harm resulting in death have been identified in the actions of a 16-year-old teenager who hit a traffic police inspector with a BMW M4 in central Tashkent. This was announced by the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan, Hayot Shamsutdinov, based on information gathered during a pre-investigation check.

The teenager has been charged as a suspect under Part 1 of Article 267 of the Criminal Code (car theft) and paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 104 (intentional grave bodily harm resulting in death). He is a 10th-grade student and was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The General Prosecutor's Office noted that the suspect had previously regularly committed traffic violations "threatening public safety," illegally amplified car sound, installed flashing lights, and posted violation videos on social media. On January 9, he disobeyed a traffic police stop order in another BMW X5, leading to his father being fined.

On February 25 around 21:30, the teenager, without a driver's license, stole a car belonging to a friend's sister. Around 21:45, traffic police inspector Khasilbek Eshnazarov received a report of a car moving with gross traffic violations on Nukus Street. The inspector signaled to stop traffic, but the teenager maneuvered and hit him. The inspector sustained life-threatening injuries and died on February 27.

Investigative actions are under special control by the General Prosecutor's Office, with the court promising a thorough investigation.
