Tashkent – Khayrulla Ibodullayev, who rescued a seven-year-old child in St. Petersburg, has returned to Uzbekistan and was ceremonially welcomed at Tashkent Airport.

The 36-year-old Ibodullayev, working as a janitor in St. Petersburg, caught the boy with an autism diagnosis as he fell from the seventh floor. The child was playing with a tablet near an open window, lost balance, and fell, briefly catching onto a ledge.

At the airport, he was met by relatives and citizens who came to express gratitude. Attendees highlighted the importance of such acts for strengthening civic responsibility and national unity.

The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts, emphasizing recognition of the heroism by the state and private sector. Ibodullayev received a personal certificate for free flights across Centrum Air's entire network, valid for five years.

Additionally, tour operator Centrum Holidays provided the family with an Umrah pilgrimage voucher for the hero's parents.

Previously, by decree of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Khayrulla Ibodullayev was awarded the state medal "Jasorat" (Courage).
