In 2025, 224,845 parents in Uzbekistan were held accountable for failing to fulfill their duties in child education and upbringing. This was announced on February 25 by Children's Ombudsman Surayyo Rakhmonova at a joint meeting of Senate committees.

Rakhmonova noted that in 2025, courts reviewed 2,584 criminal cases committed by 3,301 minors, accounting for 4.09% of total crimes. Most children in conflict with the law are school students.

Additionally, 70,271 parents negatively influencing minors' behavior were placed on preventive records last year. Throughout the year, 5,877 minors who showed positive behavioral changes were removed from these records.

The Children's Ombudsman emphasized the need to strengthen targeted measures within families, schools, and communities to address root causes of juvenile delinquency.
