The high-profile case of a fatal crash involving a teenager and a traffic police inspector in Tashkent has gained new details. After information about the family of the perpetrator emerged, public debate has focused on upbringing and elder responsibility. The teen's brother, Umid Kuchkunov, made a public statement defending his 80-year-old grandfather and questioning the safety practices of traffic police officers.
Umid Kuchkunov stated: "Everyone has now forgotten about my brother's mistake, and stones are being thrown only at my grandfather, his authority, and the work he built over years. He has nearly 60 grandchildren. This situation has weighed heavily on his heart, and at his age, any shock could be fatal. We don't want to lose our grandfather too because of this terrible incident."
Kuchkunov also criticized what he called unjustified risks taken by traffic police, such as stepping onto roads in front of high-speed vehicles, and shared videos illustrating such incidents. He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased inspector and affirmed that his brother would face due punishment.
Recall that on February 25 in Tashkent, a 15-year-old student, driving a BMW M4 without a license or experience, hit a traffic police inspector on duty. The inspector died in hospital two days later.
