President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has announced comprehensive measures to support women's education and innovative activities. Starting from the new academic year, the number of state grants for girls from needy families will double to 4,000 places. These initiatives were revealed during a festive event dedicated to the protection of women's rights.

The President highlighted that over 904,000 girls are currently studying in the country's higher education institutions, accounting for 54% of the total student population. This figure reflects women's active participation in the educational sector and showcases their achievements in the social and academic processes.

A key focus of the program is on scientific and innovative endeavors. Women make up 61% of research interns and doctoral candidates. To foster their ideas, startup competitions will be held annually across 10 fields, with winners eligible for grants of up to 500 million soums from the Innovation Fund.

An important part of the address centered on the protection of women's and children's rights. The President emphasized, "The fight against oppression and violence towards women and children remains a priority of state policy." A recently signed decree establishes the foundation for a strict system to counteract any forms of violence against women and minors.
