In the city of Bekabad, Tashkent Region, five teenagers have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder of an 11th-grade student. According to the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, Hayot Shamsutdinov, during a verbal conflict that arose among several minors, one of them inflicted stab wounds on the victim with a kitchen knife to the chest area.
The victim was taken to a medical facility but died despite the medical assistance provided. On March 11, the General Prosecutor's Office reported that a criminal case had been initiated under Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code, and the suspected minor was detained in accordance with procedural order.
In an additional statement published on March 12, it was noted that a preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied against the five suspected minors. Investigative actions are currently ongoing. The incident occurred on March 5 of this year at School No. 12 in Bekabad, where an 11th-grade student was beaten and sustained stab wounds from several teenagers.
As reported by relatives of the deceased in an interview with a Kun.uz correspondent, after a conflict arose among students, five students from another school arrived—three from School No. 3 and two from a technical college. They attacked the victim as a group and struck him with a knife in the chest area. The relatives of the deceased are demanding action against all those responsible and express dissatisfaction with the families of the teenagers, who did not even find time to offer condolences.
