Uzbekistan has marked a notable development in its agricultural sector with the delivery of a batch of 100 modern agricultural drones. These unmanned aerial vehicles are intended for monitoring farmlands, applying fertilizers, and protecting crops. The shipment was facilitated through an initiative by the Ministry of Agriculture with support from the World Bank.
The drones are of Chinese manufacture: 50 units are designated for remote monitoring of cultivated areas, while the other 50 are for fertilizer application, pest control, and agrotechnical operations. The adoption of such technologies aims to enhance agricultural efficiency and conserve resources in the country's farming practices.
As part of the project, specialist training has also been organized. Thirty employees from the State Scientific and Design Institute "Uzgiprozem" and its regional branches are undergoing instruction in drone operation and maintenance. Future plans include training up to 100 qualified operators, which is expected to support the advancement of agricultural technologies in Uzbekistan.
