Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover for January-February 2026 reached $11.6 billion, showing a 7.1% increase compared to the same period last year. According to data from the National Statistics Committee, while overall trade volume grew, the dynamics of exports and imports moved in opposite directions.
The volume of imports amounted to $8 billion, corresponding to a 29.8% year-on-year growth. The main part of imports consisted of machinery and transport equipment, accounting for 36.1% of all supplies, with significant volumes also attributed to industrial goods and chemical products.
Export indicators for the period stood at $3.5 billion, declining by 23.4% relative to last year's figures. Among exported goods, industrial products, foodstuffs, live animals, and chemical substances predominated.
Alongside trade indicators, the services market demonstrated positive dynamics, with its volume reaching nearly 168.2 trillion soums, a 15.4% increase. This indicator was most influenced by financial services, trade, accommodation and food services, as well as the transport sector.
By early March, the total number of active enterprises and organizations in the republic exceeded 486,000 units. The largest number of business entities are concentrated in Tashkent, Tashkent Region, and Samarkand Region, with trade and industry leading in terms of sectors.
