In Uzbekistan, 57,512 cars were sold in January-February 2026, a 14.2% increase compared to the same period last year. The statistics include only cars produced and assembled in Uzbekistan, with imported models not accounted for.
Chevrolet retains the largest market share, although its overall share is gradually declining. A significant event was the BYD brand overtaking Kia for the first time to secure second place in the popularity ranking. The share of electric vehicles rose from 5.6% to 8.1% over the year.
The list of top-selling models is entirely composed of Chevrolet vehicles. The Cobalt remains in first place but lost a quarter of its sales. Meanwhile, the Tracker and Onix models showed explosive growth, and Yuan Up sales increased more than sixfold.
The competition between BYD and Kia was extremely tight, with a difference of only 10 cars. While Kia relies almost entirely on one model (Sonet) for sales, BYD's demand is distributed among three main models: Song Plus, Yuan Up, and Chazor.
By price segments, the under $7,500 segment recorded 15,666 sales (27.2% of the market). In the $7,500–12,000 range, there were 22,104 sales (38.4%), where Onix tripled its sales and drew some customers away from Cobalt. The $12,000–17,000 segment is the most competitive and fastest-growing, with 13,210 sales (23.0%), where Tracker sales grew 2.3 times, likely due to installment and auto loan programs.
In the $17,000–25,000 segment, 4,333 sales (7.5%) were noted. In the $25,000–35,000 and above segments, sales declined, with Malibu and Sorento losing more than half of their sales, possibly as buyers switch to imported cars not included in the statistics.
Regarding electric vehicles, 4,649 electric cars were sold over two months, accounting for 8.1% of the total market volume (compared to 5.6% last year). Demand increased by 63.7%, with 2,626 units (56%) being plug-in hybrids (PHEV). Three models accounted for 83% of sales in this category, and new models such as Seal 6, Sea Lion 07, ATTO 8, and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV have established themselves in the market in 2026.
