Uzbekistan Women's Taekwondo Team Wins Three Medals at International Tournament in Turkey

The Uzbekistan women's taekwondo team delivered a strong performance at the WT Turkish Open international tournament held in Antalya, Turkey. During one day of the competition, Uzbek athletes secured gold, silver, and bronze medals, showcasing their competitive edge on the global stage.

Ozoda Sobirjonova clinched the gold medal in the under 67 kg weight category. Sevinc Khaitova earned the silver medal in the under 62 kg category. Svetlana Osipova won the bronze medal in the over 73 kg category, adding another accolade to the team's tally.

According to the tournament schedule, men's matches are set to take place today, with the Uzbekistan team also aiming for medals. These results highlight the ongoing development and international success of Uzbek sports, particularly in martial arts disciplines.

Recently, Gulshan Alimardonova, Uzbekistan's first-ever women's world champion in karate, and world taekwondo champion Najmiddin Kosimkhodjaev were awarded BYD cars and $15,000 cash prizes by the president. This recognition underscores the government's efforts to incentivize and celebrate athletic achievements, fostering a culture of excellence in sports.
