A plan to launch production of electric and hybrid cars in the Bukhara region has been announced. This was reported by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting focused on the effectiveness of reforms, efficient use of the region's economic potential, and future priority tasks. The meeting reviewed key target indicators for socio-economic development by 2026, including increasing the gross regional product to 102.1 trillion soums, achieving growth of 9.1% in industry, 5.9% in agriculture, and 20.1% in services, reducing unemployment and poverty levels to 2%, and providing income for 381,500 people.

In the industrial sector, 61 major projects have been formed with a total value of $2.2 billion. As a result, it is planned to create 18,000 new jobs and increase industrial output per capita from 25.6 to 29.6 million soums. Specifically, in the Kogon district, production of 80,000 electric and hybrid cars per year is planned, with the project valued at $350 million, creating 500 jobs.

Other significant projects discussed include a $220 million project for producing benzene, toluene, xylene, pentane, hexane, bitumen, and calcium chloride through pyrolysis processing in the Bukhara district, expanding production of AI-91 and AI-92 gasoline based on an $85 million project in the Qorovulbozor district, launching paper and cardboard production in the Kogon district, as well as plans to expand mineral fertilizer and gypsum board production.

For new productions on vacant land plots in 61 existing industrial zones, directions have been determined, including priority for food and furniture industries in Bukhara city and district, leather and light industry in Vobkent, petrochemicals in Kogon and Qorovulbozor, pharmaceuticals and food in Shofirkon and Peshku, and construction materials in G‘ijduvon. It was noted that in agriculture, through the introduction of modern land use technologies and irrigation systems, 100,000 hectares of land can be developed and put into use.
