A ceremonial event was held at the Koksaroy residence to mark the 80th birthday of renowned pop singer and People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Farrukh Zakirov, with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the arts and culture sectors, state and public officials, creative intellectuals, and a broad representation of the public. The President congratulated Zakirov on this significant milestone, wishing him health, family well-being, and new creative achievements.
During the event, the invaluable contribution of the Zakirov dynasty to the development of Uzbekistan's national music and vocal art was emphasized. It was noted that the art school founded by People's Artist Karim Zakirov and the rich creative legacy of Batyr Zakirov, one of the founders of Uzbek pop music, are highly valued as spiritual assets of the people. Farrukh Zakirov was highlighted not only as a beloved artist in Uzbekistan but also across Central Asia, Commonwealth countries, and Turkic peoples, with his titles as People's Artist of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and several republics of Russia also acknowledged.
The ceremony also recognized the long-term fruitful activities of members of the "Yalla" ensemble—Javlon Tukhtayev, Abbas Aliyev, Temur Khalikov, and Igor Khalikov. Additionally, it was announced that Children's Music and Art School No. 7 in Yashnabad District will be named after Farrukh Zakirov. The school plans to establish a "Yalla" children's ensemble, a creative laboratory for youth, a modern audio and video recording studio, and open performance mastery classes in the pop direction based on the "master-apprentice" traditions.
Students at the school who achieve excellent grades will be given preferential opportunities for admission to specialized art education institutions, and talented children from across the republic will annually have the chance to enhance their skills there. Funded by the budget, they will be sent to prestigious international competitions and receive appropriate incentives. This educational institution is expected to become one of the exemplary centers in the country, serving to pass on the creative heritage of the Zakirov dynasty to future generations.
At the conclusion of the ceremonial event, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented Farrukh Zakirov with the "For Great Services" order in recognition of his many years of invaluable contribution to the development of national art and culture. This award was seen as a symbol of high appreciation for the artist's long and productive career.
