The National Agency for Social Protection under the President has published the second volume of the book 'Memory Light' ('Xotira nuri'). The first volume was released last year.

According to the agency's press service, the book contains memories and photographs of Uzbek veterans. On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Honor, agency representatives, including First Deputy Director Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, visited veterans at their homes and presented them with the book.

'The second volume continues the series of biographical essays about veterans and preserves their messages to future generations,' the agency noted.

Stories of war participants from various regions of the country were collected by students of the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi.

Last year, as part of the project, the 'Memory Light' memorial area was opened in Victory Park in Tashkent. The newspaper previously published an interview with the concept's author, sculptor Marina Borodina.

According to recent data, 60 participants of World War II and equivalent persons currently reside in Uzbekistan.
