On May 8, the Japan Immigration Services Agency deported a citizen of Uzbekistan who was illegally staying in the country. The press service of the Japanese Embassy in Tashkent reported the incident.

The Uzbek national entered Japan on a short-term business visa and remained in the country after the permitted stay period expired. The embassy emphasized that such visas are not intended for employment.

“Short-term visas issued for purposes such as tourism, business, or visiting relatives or acquaintances are not designed for work. Working or staying long-term with this visa is prohibited,” the embassy warned.

If illegal stay or illegal employment is detected, violators are arrested by police, detained at immigration centers, and deported. The Japanese government also shares information about violators with the Uzbek government.

The embassy urged citizens not to fall for offers claiming “you can work in Japan.” On April 26, two Uzbek citizens were also deported from Japan for similar violations.
