Uzbekistan's tennis player Maria Timofeeva confidently defeated an experienced opponent to claim the main trophy of the WTA 125 series tournament held in Istanbul.

In the final match, the athlete beat Croatia's Donna Vekic, one of the world's most renowned tennis players. The match ended with a score of 6:4, 6:2, securing Timofeeva the top prize of the competition.

It is worth recalling that in October 2025, Russian tennis player Maria Timofeeva changed her sporting citizenship and now represents Uzbekistan in international competitions.
