The junior world weightlifting championships in Ismailia, Egypt, concluded with Uzbekistan’s team securing one silver and three bronze medals.
Omadillo Olimov, competing in the heaviest weight category (over 110 kg), stood out by winning two bronze medals on the final day. He placed fourth in the snatch with 169 kg, but earned bronze in the clean and jerk (219 kg) and total (388 kg).
Boburmirzo Yakubov claimed silver in the snatch with 152 kg, while Ziyoda Khudoykulova added a bronze in the snatch with 93 kg.
Earlier, a specialized weightlifting school named after Olympic champion Akbar Djuraev opened in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.
