Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. An informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has begun in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan, with the participation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the Congress Center, the head of state was greeted by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Following tradition, a joint photo session of delegation leaders took place.

Before the meeting, the leaders took part in a capsule-laying ceremony at the foundation of the Center of Turkic Civilization. The project, initiated by Kazakhstan, aims to showcase the common historical roots and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples.

The center is expected to become a platform for scientific and humanitarian cooperation, strengthening the spiritual closeness of member states, and promoting shared values and traditions.

As part of the summit program, leaders were shown Kazakhstan's digital solutions and joint OTS projects in IT and artificial intelligence.

Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan, together with heads of delegations from OTS member states, visited the historical and cultural center of Turkistan and familiarized themselves with the main monuments of the region's spiritual and cultural heritage.
