President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on December 24, 2025, declaring additional days off for the Eid al-Adha (Kurban Khait) holiday in 2026. The holiday falls on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday-Friday, May 28-29, are designated as extra days off for all employees.

Saturday, May 30, is an additional day off for those working a six-day workweek, while it remains a regular day off for five-day workers. Sunday, May 31, is a standard day off for everyone.

As a result, all citizens will enjoy five consecutive days off: May 27 (Eid al-Adha), May 28-29 (additional holidays), May 30 (additional or regular day off), and May 31 (regular day off).

Lawyer Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiev calculated that in May 2026, employees with a five-day workweek will have 14 days off, while those with a six-day workweek will have 10 days off. He described this as the month with the most holidays in recent years.

The expert noted that such a long break is not expected in the near future, making it a unique opportunity for citizens to plan vacations or family gatherings.
