Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. A large shopping complex in the Sayljoyi neighborhood of Jizzakh has been temporarily closed due to gross violations of fire safety regulations.
During an inspection on May 17, ministry specialists found systematic disregard for basic safety norms. The complex's interior walls and ceilings were covered with flammable materials, and evacuation routes and passageways were blocked by haphazardly stored items and combustible goods.
Additionally, inspectors discovered hazardous electrical wiring: in retail outlets, wiring was installed with serious violations and covered by foreign objects. The facility lacked sufficient fire extinguishers, evacuation signs were non-functional, and emergency exit plans were not properly designed. The ministry stressed that the complex will only reopen after all prescribed measures are fully implemented.
Earlier, social media circulated reports about the possible demolition of the Kadyrova market in Tashkent, accompanied by videos of structure dismantling in the vegetable section. However, authorities denied the information about the market's liquidation, explaining the situation as part of an effort to restore order.
