A 24-year-old student from Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) was detained in the Kuylyuk neighborhood after a preventive inspector noticed him sitting near a ditch. A search of his bag revealed 36 packages containing a powdery substance.
According to the Public Security Department of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the student saw an advertisement on Instagram and contacted unknown individuals. He became involved in illegal activities for quick money, receiving stash locations via Telegram. On the day of his arrest, he had already placed packages at 14 locations.
During a search in the presence of witnesses, police found new coordinates on his phone for already placed stashes. Officers seized drugs from all 14 addresses. A pre-investigation check is currently underway.
The detainee confessed and expressed regret. "Think about your parents," he said, addressing those seeking easy money.
Earlier, in the Bukhara region, two young men were sentenced to five years in prison for distributing synthetic drugs. The verdict was issued by the Criminal Court of Karaulbazar District.
