President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree awarding a group of deceased figures who made a huge contribution to the development of culture, art and literature. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

The decree states that the awards are given “with the aim of glorifying human dignity in new Uzbekistan, showing worthy respect to the memory of ancestors.” The awarded figures left an invaluable legacy for future generations through their bright talent and many years of fruitful creative activity, strengthened the spiritual foundations of the country's independence, raised the educational and artistic thinking of the people, and made an invaluable contribution to the development of culture, art and literature.

They also rendered unforgettable services in establishing the principles of goodness and mercy, patriotism and tolerance, and deeply engraved themselves in the memory of the people with their meaningful life and high human qualities.

The decree awarded state honors such as the Order of Great Services, the Order of Respect of the People, the Order of Selfless Service, the Order of Labor Glory and the Order of Friendship. In particular, People's Writer of Uzbekistan Utkir Khashimov was awarded the Order of Respect of the People.

This decree is seen as an important step in preserving Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and recognizing the contributions of creative figures.
