On June 2, the Ministry of Justice registered a departmental document amending the list of certificates that determine proficiency in foreign languages and general education subjects. Under the new rules, applicants to bachelor's programs that include a foreign language in their subject cluster will receive 75% of the maximum score for that subject if they hold a B1-level national or internationally recognized certificate.
The amendments also specify that the TOEFL iBT certificate in English will now have its proficiency level determined on a 1–6 point scale, replacing the previous system for greater accuracy.
For pedagogical staff, the validity period of TKT, TESOL, TEFL, and TESL certificates will be taken into account when calculating bonuses. Teachers at vocational education institutions who teach specialized subjects in a foreign language will receive monthly bonuses: 50% for a B2 certificate and 100% for a C1 certificate.
Teachers will also receive bonuses if they score 750 or higher on the mathematics section of the Digital SAT certificate. Additionally, music and physical education teachers in general secondary schools will be eligible for bonuses for certificates of B+ level or higher.
