In a coordinated operation, the State Security Service and law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have thwarted two cases of illegal drug trafficking in the Tashkent and Namangan regions. A total of more than 7.5 kilograms of banned substances were confiscated.

In the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a 26-year-old resident of the Markhamat district in the Andijan region was detained. The man attempted to flee in a Chevrolet Cobalt, disregarding lawful orders from officers. During the chase, he threw two packages containing suspicious substances from the vehicle.

After the car was stopped, two more packages were found inside. Additionally, based on the suspect's geolocation, another package he was supposed to retrieve was discovered. Forensic analysis revealed that the seized substance was hashish, weighing a total of 5 kilograms.

Another case was uncovered at the border customs post in the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region. During an inspection of a Chevrolet Lacetti entering Uzbekistan from a neighboring country, 2 kilograms and 513 grams of the synthetic drug alpha-PVP were found hidden in the fuel tank.

Along with the driver, his alleged accomplice, a 21-year-old resident of the Chartak district, was also detained. The accomplice had traveled with the driver to the post, then crossed it on foot and waited for the driver on Uzbek territory.

Criminal cases have been initiated in connection with both incidents, and investigative actions are underway. Earlier, in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, a 21-year-old foreign citizen was detained with over 5.2 kilograms of synthetic drugs in his possession.
