Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A pre-investigation check has been initiated against employees of the Bukhara Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 4. Earlier, information spread on social media about torture and extraction of testimony from detainees.

According to the Telegram channel of the Oliy Majlis Commissioner for Human Rights, a forensic medical examination has been ordered for a man who complained about his detention conditions.

“The regional representative of the Ombudsman in Bukhara region ... visited the scene and conducted verification measures. During the inspection, a detailed conversation was held with the person mentioned in the appeal, his detention conditions, the reasons stated in the appeal, as well as the presence or absence of signs of bodily injuries on his body were studied,” the statement said.

The case has been taken under the personal control of the Ombudsman. All collected materials have been sent to the Bukhara Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier, representatives of Uzbekistan visited a pre-trial detention center and the Republican Hospital for Convicts of the Department of Execution of Punishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. The visit was aimed at checking the detention conditions of compatriots, observing their rights, and providing consular support.
