Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of proposals for reforming the defense sector, modernizing the Air Force, and digitizing conscript registration.

In recent years, the country's defense system has entered a new stage of development: Air Defense Forces and the Air Force are being consistently equipped with modern aviation equipment, air defense systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles, while the scale of practical flight training has increased several times.

During the presentation, special attention was paid to the training of professional personnel. At the initiative of the head of state, the educational and material base of the Military Aviation Institute in Karshi was fully modernized based on international educational standards and equipped with modern training simulators and modeling tools.

Cadets strengthen practical skills directly at the Khanabad airfield with the assistance of experienced specialists based on the mentor-student tradition. Participants considered measures to introduce a new system for protecting air borders and reorganizing aviation units in accordance with modern requirements, which will increase combat capability, efficiency, and mobility of troops in responding to modern threats.

A separate vector of discussion was the development of cooperation with Turkey in the field of military medicine. Within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement signed in January this year, it is planned to launch large-scale training and advanced training programs for military doctors in the areas of general medicine, dentistry, pharmaceuticals, master's and postgraduate studies.

Cooperation will also cover joint scientific seminars, congresses, exchange of teachers and students, joint exercises, patient treatment, and the creation of medical institutions.

As part of the digitalization of military management, proposals were considered to transfer conscript registration in defense authorities, as well as the activities of medical and conscription commissions, to electronic format. These measures are designed to increase transparency and efficiency of processes.

Along with this, initiatives were presented to gradually increase the salaries of civilian employees of defense authorities and increase the monthly monetary compensation for military personnel for renting housing in Tashkent and Samarkand.

The President outlined priority tasks for increasing combat readiness and introducing advanced experience into the military management system, giving specific instructions on training military personnel in professions and preparing them for admission to higher educational institutions.
