Uzbek insurance company Uzbekinvest, during a working visit to Zurich, Switzerland, held negotiations and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV), as well as a series of meetings with key global insurers Swiss Re and Zurich Insurance Group.

During the talks, SERV CEO Christina Schulze-Bergmann praised the economic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and emphasized the strong interest of leading Swiss companies in implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan in energy, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, tourism, and other sectors.

In this regard, it was noted that a representative delegation of Swiss business circles and companies is being prepared for the upcoming investment forum in Tashkent in June.

Following the signed memorandum with SERV, the following priority areas were identified: expanding cooperation in export insurance, supporting investment projects, and risk reinsurance.

During the working visit, meetings were also held with global insurance market leaders – Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. and the reinsurance market leader Swiss Re Ltd.

Representatives of Zurich Insurance Group highlighted Uzbekinvest's role as an exclusive partner in Uzbekistan for servicing their global clients.

The management of Swiss Re (the world's second-largest reinsurance company) noted the unprecedented pace of investment development in Uzbekistan and the interest of their clients in cooperating with Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meetings, the following outcomes were achieved: a high level of mutual trust and strategic interest in deepening long-term cooperation in export support, international business insurance, and global reinsurance was confirmed.
