A 19-year-old girl has been arrested in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, for allegedly blackmailing her sister's boyfriend by threatening to release intimate photos and videos. The suspect, who has a prior conviction for procuring and running brothels, reportedly demanded $2,000 in exchange for keeping the material private.

According to law enforcement, the suspect learned about the relationship between her sister and the victim and began pressuring him. She threatened to distribute the photos and videos to relatives and post them on social media, as well as to report him to various authorities.

Fearing public exposure and damage to his reputation, the victim agreed to pay the demanded sum.

On June 2, during a special operation at the Bukhara City complex, police apprehended the suspect red-handed while she was receiving the money.

A criminal case has been opened on charges of extortion, and an investigation is underway.

Earlier, in the Khiva district of Khorezm region, a man was detained on suspicion of extorting money from a woman by threatening to distribute her personal photos and videos on social media.
