Criminal proceedings have been initiated against two inspectors from the Yunusabad district tax inspectorate in Tashkent, the State Security Service (SSS) reported.

According to the SSS, the inspectors conspired and used their official position to promise a businessman assistance in renting three retail outlets from the Chilonzor Commodity Market Complex JSC. Through their acquaintances, they allegedly planned to ensure the businessman's LLC would win an open tender.

The inspectors demanded $5,000 in exchange for formalizing the lease agreements. During an operational operation, they were caught red-handed while receiving the requested amount.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspects, and investigative actions are underway. The SSS stated that additional details cannot be disclosed due to the secrecy of the investigation.
