Specialists from the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee, together with the veterinary-sanitary laboratory, have identified a batch of melons hazardous to health at one of Tashkent's farmers' markets. Tests revealed nitrate levels exceeding permissible standards.
The latest inspection took place at the Farhad farmers' market in the Uchtepa district. During the check, samples of melons sold at the market were collected. It was found that 21 kilograms of melon had nitrate levels above the established hygiene norms.
The potentially dangerous produce was banned from sale and confiscated. Sellers were given explanatory talks about the need to strictly comply with food safety requirements.
