Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A testing center for Russian language, history, and legislation of the Russian Federation will be established in the Samarkand region for labor migrants, following negotiations in St. Petersburg.

On June 11, Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullayev held meetings with the leadership of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad region governments, as well as relevant departments responsible for employment and external relations.

A key outcome of the talks was an agreement with the Association for the Promotion of International Labor Migration to open a testing center in the Samarkand region for Russian language, history, and Russian legislation. The center will allow migrants to take exams required for work in Russia in advance.

Additionally, the migration centers "Bronka Group" and "Yuzhny" expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in organized employment and personnel training. The parties agreed to increase the capacity of the centers, improve service quality, and strengthen information support.

Special attention was paid to protecting the rights of compatriots. Meetings with human rights and children's rights ombudsmen, as well as the International Bar Association, resulted in agreements to expand legal assistance and improve mechanisms for rapid response to problematic cases.

The Uzbek delegation also visited a temporary detention center for foreign citizens in the Leningrad region and coordinated measures with its leadership to expedite document processing and organize the return of Uzbek citizens to their homeland.

The Consulate General noted that the protection of rights and consular assistance to citizens are under constant control.

Earlier, a janitor from Uzbekistan saved a seven-year-old boy who fell from a seventh-floor window in St. Petersburg.
