The Uzbekistan national boxing team secured 12 medals — 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze — at the second stage of the World Boxing Cup held in Guiyang, China, from June 15 to 21, according to the National Olympic Committee.

The men's team led with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. In the overall standings, host China topped the table with 5 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze, followed by Kazakhstan with 5 gold and 3 bronze, while Uzbekistan finished third.

In the -60 kg category, Olympic champion Abdumalik Khalokov dominated the final against Brazil's Luiz Gabriel, winning 5:0 with a masterclass performance.

In the -90 kg division, Turabek Khabibullaev was scheduled to face Britain's Isaac Okoh in the final, but his opponent withdrew due to injury, handing Khabibullaev the gold medal.

Javokhir Ummataliev won a hard-fought battle in the -80 kg final against Brazil's Vanderley Pereira, prevailing 3:2.

In women's -57 kg, Nigina Uktamova defeated India's Prachi 5:0 in the final, claiming gold. She is also a junior world champion.

Background: The World Boxing Cup 2026 is a prestigious series organized by the newly formed World Boxing international organization. Boxers earn ranking points: 150 for gold, 100 for silver, and 75 for bronze.

The first stage was held April 20-26 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, where Uzbekistan, with four boxers, won 2 gold and 1 bronze.

The third and final stage will take place from November 25 to December 2 in Tashkent. The world's top boxers with the highest ranking points over the year will compete for the main prize in the Uzbek capital.
