On the evening of June 28, an accident occurred at the Yuksek substation in Tashkent, temporarily cutting off power to about 55,000 consumers in four districts of the capital and part of the Tashkent region.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the accident happened at 20:45 due to a technical malfunction in the 110 kV network. This led to the shutdown of two gas turbine units at the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant with a total capacity of 60 MW.

The power outage affected residents of the Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Mirabad, and Uchtepa districts of Tashkent, as well as the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region. Additionally, some small industrial enterprises were temporarily left without electricity.

Restoration work continued throughout the night. By 21:50, power was restored to most consumers in the Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, and Uchtepa districts. After midnight, the remaining subscribers were gradually reconnected: at 00:08 in the Mirabad district, at 00:09 in parts of Yakkasaray and Chilanzar, and at 00:25 in the remaining areas of Chilanzar and Zangiata.

The Ministry of Energy announced that emergency restoration work has been completed and power supply to all consumers has been fully restored. The ministry apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused.
