According to Uzgidromet and international weather forecasting centers, Uzbekistan will experience a sharp weather shift from June 29 to July 5. Early in the week, temperatures will soar to +40...+45°C across most of the country, then drop to around +35°C as cooler air arrives.

On Monday, Khorezm and Karakalpakstan will see +33°C, the Fergana Valley +40°C, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions +42°C, and Bukhara, Navoi and southern regions up to +45°C. From Tuesday, temperatures will decline, with only Surkhandarya and the valley remaining at +40°C.

From June 30 to July 3, daytime highs will not exceed +35°C, reaching +37°C in the south. By the weekend, temperatures will again approach +40°C. Nighttime temperatures will drop from a stuffy +28°C early in the week to a comfortable +20°C by midweek.

Precipitation will begin with heavy downpours in the north (Ustyurt) early in the week. From Tuesday, intense rains are expected in densely populated areas and mountains. The mountains of Tashkent, the Fergana Valley and Jizzakh may receive over 60 mm of rainfall. However, most of the country will remain dry.

Due to the sharp change in air masses, strong winds up to 22 m/s are forecast in the north on Monday and Tuesday, potentially causing dust storms. Southern Surkhandarya may experience the so-called “Afghan wind.”

The Ministry of Health and Emergency Situations advise residents to avoid direct sunlight between 12:00 and 16:00 on Monday. Risks include heatstroke and cardiovascular strain. Conditions will improve with the cooling trend by midweek.

Geomagnetic activity: Monday and Tuesday are forecast to have “yellow” and “red” level magnetic storms. The Almaty Ionosphere Institute predicts a 3-4 point storm on Tuesday. Meteosensitive individuals should take precautions.

Overall, the most favorable days for health and comfort are Wednesday and Thursday. In mountainous areas, night and morning frosts are possible; travelers should plan accordingly.
