Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Alisher Qodirov has commented on the Uzbekistan national team's loss to DR Congo, stating that the coach's work, the goalkeeper's performance, team spirit, and other components deserve a 'zero' after such a result. The politician also called for a realistic assessment of Uzbek football's development level.

Recall that in the World Cup group stage match, Uzbekistan lost to DR Congo with a score of 1:3.

According to the politician, after an unsuccessful match, it is pointless to discuss individual components of the game. '0 – coach's work, goalkeeper, team spirit, points earned, value acquired for billions, and hope for the future…', Qodirov wrote.

However, he later noted that such defeats should be viewed more broadly than just through the prism of a specific match. In his words, Uzbek football is still in its formative stage and cannot be compared with systems that have been developing for decades.

'If we look at a school where a first-grader is just learning to put letters together in the same way as a Japanese school where children are already in the eighth grade, we will not finish that school even in a hundred years,' the politician said.

With this comparison, Qodirov called for a sober assessment of the national football's capabilities and not to expect it to reach the level of recognized leaders in a short time.

Recall that after Uzbekistan's crushing defeat by Portugal, Alisher Qodirov stated that the national team should part ways with some players.
