Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Customs officers at the Navoi border checkpoint have prevented an attempt to smuggle undeclared weapons and ammunition. In the hand luggage of passengers crossing the border on foot, a rifle, a pistol, and over 70 rounds of ammunition were discovered.

In the first case, a citizen was found with a Kral Arms hunting rifle and 44 Spotxon cartridges, which were neither verbally declared nor listed in the customs declaration. In the second case, a Retay G19C pistol and 30 Kaiser cartridges were found, also concealed from inspection.

Investigations are underway for both incidents. The customs service reminded that the import, export, and transit of civilian and service weapons, as well as ammunition, are only permitted with authorization from competent authorities.

Earlier, in the Pakhtakor and Sharof-Rashidov districts of the Jizzakh region, law enforcement uncovered cases of illegal storage of weapons and ammunition.
