A video circulating on social media shows a Malibu driver hitting pedestrians on a crosswalk in Andijan. The regional traffic police department commented on the accident.

The incident occurred on June 25 at approximately 5:55 PM on Amir Temur Street in the Yangi Buston neighborhood of Andijan city.

A 29-year-old driver of a Malibu-2, grossly violating traffic rules, failed to yield to three pedestrians crossing the road at an uncontrolled crosswalk and struck them.

All three pedestrians were hospitalized. Despite medical assistance, two of them died.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules resulting in death). The driver has been taken into custody.
