Preliminary results from the population and agriculture census conducted in early 2026 show that more than a third of Uzbekistan's residents are under the age of 20.

According to the National Statistics Committee, 38.5% of the country's population, or 15 million people, are under 20. The total population is estimated at 39 million.

Children under 14 make up 30.5% (11.9 million), while the share of citizens under 30 has reached 52% (20.3 million).

The committee also noted that in the 40–44 age group, the number of men and women is roughly equal. In younger cohorts, men predominate, while in older age groups, women are more numerous.

All data are preliminary and will be adjusted after full processing of the census materials.
