President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered a Volkswagen electric car to be gifted to Ayzada Asanova, a second-year student at Nukus State Technical University, during a meeting with youth at the Olympic Village on June 30, Youth Day. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation reported the event.

Asanova won the 'New Generation Cars' category at the international 'Engineers of the Future' festival. Her team, including seven girls, developed an electric car that consumed only 40 watts of energy over 10 kilometers, securing first place in an international competition.

The student promised the president to raise Uzbekistan's flag at an international contest in Belgium. In response, Mirziyoyev instructed Ulugbek Ruzikulov, head of Uzavtosanoat, to gift her the most beautiful Volkswagen model he had recently seen.

The ministry released a photo of Asanova with a Volkswagen Lavida XR (known as Virtus in some markets). The car's hood features Uzbekistan's flag and coat of arms, along with a sticker reading 'President's Gift'.

Asanova expressed surprise and gratitude, vowing to justify the trust with her team. Previously, in March, Zulfiya State Prize winner Lato-fat Amirova received an apartment, and in February, a fourth-grader was gifted a car after singing at a youth meeting.
