According to preliminary results of the population and agricultural census, 33.3 million residents of Uzbekistan live in private residential houses. This accounts for 85.3% of the country's total population.

Distribution by housing type: residents of private houses — 33.3 million (85.3%); residents of apartment buildings — 4.8 million (12.4%); residents of other types of housing — 927,300 (2.3%).

Other types of housing include dachas, dormitories, hotels, and other living quarters.
