A major sewage pipeline was damaged during construction work at the Solaris residential complex in Yakkasaray district of Tashkent, according to the district administration's press service.

The rupture flooded the excavation pit with wastewater, causing a construction crane to partially sink into the ground. No injuries were reported.

The administration stated that a technical malfunction led to the pipe damage and partial soil subsidence. The situation is under control, with city services and utility workers operating at the site.

Specialists are investigating the cause of the accident and working to eliminate the consequences. Local residents complained on social media about a strong smell of sewage. Authorities assured that the area would be made safe.

Earlier, residents of Almalyk complained about red water flowing into their neighborhoods from slaughterhouse waste. According to locals, the problem persisted for several years, turning former gardens near homes into swampland. The violator was fined 6 million 180 thousand soums.
