Officers from the State Security Service, together with customs authorities, conducted a raid at a post office in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. A 31-year-old resident of the Tashkent region was detained while receiving an international parcel.
During inspection, authorities found 6,000 capsules of the substance Pregabalin, weighing approximately 1.8 kilograms, inside the parcel. Pregabalin is classified as a potent drug and is restricted in Uzbekistan.
A criminal case has been opened, and an investigation is underway. According to preliminary data, the parcel was sent from India, and the recipient had ordered it for personal use.
Earlier, customs officers in Fergana seized a large batch of illegal drugs—over 6,000 tablets with narcotic substances—disguised as a regular parcel. These incidents highlight ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the country.
