The hokim (mayor) of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov, has signed a decision to transfer 212 public transport stop complexes to the city administration for subsequent reconstruction.
According to the document, 177 land plots where the stops are located will be re-registered to the city hokimiyat on a permanent use basis. Along with the land plots, the facilities on them will also come under the hokimiyat's jurisdiction.
The decision covers 212 objects with a total area of 8,900 square meters. Some land plots contain multiple stops, which are planned to be reconstructed.
The largest number of objects included in the renovation program is in the Shaykhantakhur district – 35. In the Yunusabad district, reconstruction will affect 26 stops, in Chilanzar – 24, and in Mirzo-Ulugbek – 22.
Among the stops to be renovated are "Hippodrome-2", "Shukhrat", "Palace of Peoples' Friendship" in Chilanzar district, "Yunusabad District Hokimiyat", "Malika Market", "Hydrometcenter" and "Yunusabad Market" in Yunusabad district, as well as "Quyliq-3" and "Fergana Market" in Yashnabad district.
Control over the implementation of the decision has been assigned to Abdurakhmon Bakhtiyev, deputy hokim of Tashkent for transport and road infrastructure.
Earlier, the first stop with workout elements was opened in Sergeli.
