By presidential decree, Dilnoza Kattakhonova has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister – Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs in Uzbekistan. She previously served as First Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, a position she left due to the new appointment.

Zulaykho Makhkamova, who had led the Committee on Women and Family Affairs since March 2022, was relieved of her post in connection with a transfer to another job.

Dilnoza Kattakhonova was born on July 2, 1991, in Kokand. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, a PhD in political science, and is a student in the master’s program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Over the years, Kattakhonova worked in the Kamolot youth movement, the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan, and the Youth Union, and led the children’s organization Kamalak.

In July 2020, she was appointed Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, and in December 2023, she became First Deputy Director of the agency.

She is a laureate of the Zulfiya State Prize, awarded the Dustlik Order, and the Khalklar Dustligi and Excellent Physical Culture and Sports badges.
