The Business Ombudsman has conducted a detailed analysis of industrial zones in Uzbekistan. Currently, there are 756 industrial zones in the country, hosting 4,915 projects with a total value of 65.4 trillion soums.

According to a government decree, young entrepreneurs in remote and desert regions were supposed to be able to acquire land plots in industrial zones at a starting auction price of 1 soum. However, due to a lack of integration and data exchange between the Yerelektron and E-auksion electronic systems, this preferential opportunity had not been implemented in practice.

To address this issue, the Business Ombudsman sent relevant conclusions to responsible organizations. As a result of joint work with the Cadastre Agency and the Navoi region administration, the technical flaw was eliminated.

Now, the list of industrial and business zones in remote and desert areas has been officially approved, and the possibility of purchasing land at a starting price of 1 soum has become operational.

These measures will allow hundreds of young entrepreneurs to obtain land without large expenses to start their businesses, and will also provide permanent jobs and income for over 1,000 young men and women.
